Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Mol Tower in Budapest on Friday morning, for a publicly unannounced function. Prior to the Chinese President's arrival, Viktor Orbán and his wife Anikó Lévai gave an interview to Chinese public television. Xi Jinping was welcomed by Chinese people waving their country's flags and cheering loudly when he arrived, with the area around the Mol Campus closed for the duration of his visit. Before the Chinese President's arrival, we were able to ask Viktor Orbán a few questions, including about the Chinese volunteers who have flooded the streets of Budapest in recent days. Naturally, we would have liked to ask a few more questions, but were unfortunately not given the opportunity to do so.
